LE MANS miniatures renews packaging (episode 2)

The upcoming release of the Peugeot J7 is a great opportunity to create a tailor-made box with dimensions adapted to its new proportions with a brand new opening mode.

We take this opportunity to introduce an original visual in order to

  • renew the image of LE MANS miniatures which celebrates its 30 years of existence
  • bring a newline to our range
  • retaining graphic elements that we have been using for several years (logo and scale signage)

We used the designer Erika Bienabe, whom we met in her concept store in Rochefort (France) last summer during a stay in this Charente village, known worldwide for its ferry and made famous by Jacques Demy with his film «Les Demoiselles de Rochefort» interpreted by Catherine Deneuve and Françoise Dorléac, not to mention the Hermione Frigate.

Initially a painter, Erika imagines, draws, creates a wide range of products in the world of the house (household linen, tableware, decoration, stationery, scents) and fashion accessories. She edits her own fabrics, imagines all the visuals and supports that will later constitute the items she sells in her shop run by her husband and on her website and in a summer pop-up shop at the entrance of the Arsenal de Rochefort.

Erika created the brands

  • Collection Ouest ® talks about her city and more specifically about the travels of  the most Rochefort writer Pierre Loti
  • Transbordeur Line ® is a tribute to the last Ferry Bridge in France that spans the Charente and that Jacques Demy immortalized.

It was this second line that drew our attention to her work with the idea of bringijg a new breath to our lines. The universes represented in a certain era, around the sea, the sky and the earth, the choice of colors and the graphics were imposed to us as an evidence for a collaboration around the car in order to renew our style.

After the elaboration of a specifications Erika could start to work.We are pleased to present the first result of this collaboration.

  • An original and dreamlike graphic, since we recognize models of cars without particular accuracy to a specific model, decoration components without precise enough shapes to compare them to reality and representative but blurred characters.
  • Symbolic elements of car racing, the LeMans 24 Hours and the scenery of the Sarthe track (the checkered flag, the cars of different periods, the drivers and in particular the LeMans start silhouette, the pitlane, the public in the tribunes)
  • Shimmering colors that remind the Belle Epoque and yet are very trendy today

The set invites to travel like the old posters promoting the old car races, vintage sporting events, plane trips or cruises.

We hope that this new visual identity will seduce you and prove our commitment to always looking for new ideas to offer you a collection of original miniatures in every sense of the word.
