LeeSnail : LE MANS miniatures’ mascot

"Turbo" can better get ready !

We could confuse him with the « Turbo” of DreamWorks which burst the screens of our cinemas in 2013 but this small "racing snail" was designed in 1992 by Jean-Marie Guivarch ' who is also the father of our "Mister Kit".

The contradiction of 2 terms is surprising but well reflects the activity of LE MANS miniatures. On one hand the motor racing, and rather endurance racing and on the other hand, the slow and meticulous process of the manufacturing of miniatures and these hazards.

He appeared according to the desires for his designer, on the communication of LE MANS miniatures but also on the building instructions of the kits. By some twist of fate he had never been nicknamed.

You should have seen him in our pricelist when he drools.

Benoît took advantage of his free time to model and stylize in 3D the snail by CAD. The "e-snail" and thus LeeSnail was born. The snail shell was adapted in 2 versions:

  • the road version, with helical shell with rolling-up to the right course
  • the racing version is a streamlined version, tested in wind tunnel, in order to optimize the speed in a straight  line

We still think about the shape which LeeSnail is going to take to surprise us. Further surprises can never be ruled out. After the hibernation, of course.
