Ring of flowers

Danish driver, Tom Kristensen begins his career in a karting and drives Formula 1 cars. He is the most titled driver of LeMans 24 Hours with 9 victories among which consecutive 6 with Audi. In 1997 while he reorients his career in endurance racing, he joins the German team Joest for Porsche next to Michele Alboreto and wins his first victory. After 37 years spent on automotive teams, he retires the race in 2014.

It is this first victory in Le Mans in 1997 that we wished to celebrate. Tom carries the flower crown of the winners and smiling greet the crowd.

Henri Pescarolo is a driver whose name has been associated since the end of the 60s with LeMans 24 Hours. As a driver or more recently as a team manager he is a symbolic French character of the race. He is represented here celebrating one of his numerous podiums by the end of 1960s before his serious accident. He wears his smoked ski goggles around the neck used as protection during races and the magnum of a famous Champagne brand.

He wears his glasses around the neck but puts them on his nose as soon as he will be in his vehicle. This type of start has been stopped at the beginning of 1970s.
