Porsche 917 LH n°25

ref.: 132070/25M

After 20 years of fruitless participations, 1970 is a turning point in the history of Porsche in LeMans 24 Hours, because the factory wins for the first time and even completes the 2 other steps of the podium.

It is the last time that the trade company, established in Salzburg, Austria, engages two Porsche cars at LeMans but the result is quite remarkable. In fact the victory gets to Porsche 917K n°23 with the team Herrmann and Attwood, and 917 LH n°25 of Vic Elford and Kurt Ahrens takes pole position and beats the best lap time in race.

Although the LH n°25 must give up after 18 hours racing, betrayed by its engine, while at mid-race it was in 3rd place, Porsche triggers the counter of victories in LeMans.
