Porsche 961 n°203

For the second consecutive year, Porsche 961 comes in Le Mans this time, under the official colors of the factory.The team around René Metge hopes to make as well as the previous year but the unfavorable weather conditions so expected do not come and the car does not have the opportunity to develop its potential which stays far below 1986 and the entered Mazda 757 in the same category.

Porsche wins LeMans with Porsche 962 C of Hans Stuck, Derek Bell and Al Holbert but Porsche 961 car #203 does not end the race; it catches fire after Nierop goes off the road.
