Focus on the Chenard & Walcker

In December 2021, LE MANS miniatures launched its first model car in scale 1/18th. Who would have thought we would embark on such a challenge.

The success of the 1934 Bugatti T59 at the Grand Prix de Monaco lived up to our expectations and was a success. The model required many hours of production development, monitoring and development. Productions at 1/18th and 1/32nd allowed us to spread the investments.

The second model, the Bugatti T57S45 of the 1937 ACF Grand Prix, has been available since last September.

And we are at the dawn of the production release of Chenard & Walcker, the first winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1923. This is our way of celebrating this centenary. The adventure began in April 2022. It took more than 18 months of work. The project was large: the photos available are few. We were able to base our work on the original details of the model exhibited at the Musée du Mans. Important cross-checking of information was therefore necessary. The outcome of this work is before our eyes. The details have been refined (new muddy base, different texture effects on the resin cast body, use of different materials; stamped metal fender, white metal front axle, leather cowl strap, many photoengraved metal parts). The 2 cars are different: look at the side vents on the front cover different on the 2 numbers and the presence of the coat of arms only on the grille of the n°10.

For the LMM range, each model comes with a driver in his overcoat to protect himself from the bad weather of the weekend. Other figures will complete next year the diorama to continue to tell the story of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The models have left the factory. They should be available in December.

In scale 1:32 the casting is started and we expect to validate the last details to finalize the production for a soon availability.
