Met many years ago, we had the chance to work with the lucky owners of the original vehicle that the restoration has occupied for several years, and which they have extensively documented. The car, once on display, at the museum in Sinsheim in Germany was able to be scanned: the recovered point clouds were then subject to a treatment and a CAD pushed almost simultaneously to the 2 scales that are currently occupying us. The documentation that served for the restoration was of great help to us and was able to remove many doubts. The choice of color was also an opportunity for discussions, research and deductions.
Thus Philippe Leroux and his wife Christine have published on an author’s own account 3 volumes on the history of the brand in these finest details. “Little” family story in the Great History of Automotive, these books filled with anecdotes, illustrations, photos, related to the brand, are a magnificent work that is rarely given to browse.
The result is now in front of us. There are still some adjustments and details to finalize but the production of the 1/32nd and 1/18th miniatures is underway simultaneously. The delivery of slot models is scheduled for September. The 1/18th models will arrive in November by boat.
The printing of the 1/32nd chassis that will equip future slot models is underway in our workshop in Yvré-le-Pôlin. This allows us to integrate on a single piece a large number of details and technical components, impossible to mold in the traditional way, in a resin whose rigidity and resistance have at least the same performance as plastic injection.
The choice of this model was imposed after the Chenard & Walcker and the Bugatti T32. This model has never been the subject of a serial reproduction neither in scale 1/32nd nor in 1/18th, we are delighted to fill this gap. In addition, the Alsatian brand largely dominated the 1926 race since the 3 cars entered finished on the podium in reverse order of their numbers. For the small history, it seems interesting to us to highlight the "top on" version of the start of the race, a funny detail point of the regulations at the time (see the complete history of the car).
