In 1966, Ford came to Le Mans with the firm intention of fighting with Ferrari, who had six consecutive victories in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Carroll Shelby designed the Ford MKIV. It was the debacle for Ferrari that failed to stand up to the MKIV which achieved a triple that year. The #5 car driven by a 100% American team finished on the 3rd step of the podium.
This duel is told in the James Mangold's movie "LeMans 66" released in 2019 with Matt Damon as Carroll Shelby and Christian Bale as Ken Miles.
The kit in scale 1:87 is entirely cast in polyuréthan resin (body, chassis and wheels). The wing, the rear grids and wheel spins are made of photo-etching parts.
