Alpine Renault A220 n°31

ref.: 132059/31M

In 1969, Alpine wants to believe in the potential of A220 and at Gordini one also bustles to find solutions to the problem of power of the engine. But Renault will be right of all this by announcing the stop of the development program.

Alpine A220 n°31 of 2 rallymen takes a peaceful start and goes back of the 18th to the 10th position after 8 hours of running then reaches even up to the 9th rank. But shortly after midnight the temperature rises in the engine and the cylinder head gasket gives in in its turn 1:30 am, shortly after the definitive stop of A220 n°28.
