Reproduction in scale 1:32 of the Ferrari 250 TR58 that participated in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1958. Eleven Ferraris are lined up at the start, including 10 3l cars. Three are engaged by Scuderia Ferrari.
Although the 250 TR’s beginnings were difficult, 1958 was a very favourable year for it. Before Le Mans they already had 3 victories in 4 races.
The new 250 TR58, which was launched in November 1957, is refined with a left-hand drive. A bulky protrusion riveted on the engine bonnet and the passage of exhaust ducts under both body plates allow to detect the presence of the 12-cylinder engine. The original design of the front wings supposed to promote better cooling of the brakes was definitively abandoned in favor of a monobloc engine hood.
The number 12 of the English team Mike Hawthorn & Peter Collins is mainly recognizable by its right-hand drive but also by the English cockades that decorate it. It gives up on clutch failure during the eleventh hour of race.
