Ferrari TR58 n°16

ref.: 132106/16M

127.99 € incl. VAT 106.66 € excl. VAT

Reproduction in 1/32 of the Ferrari 250 TR58 n°16 which participated in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1958. It is one of the 11 Ferraris in the race and, like cars #12 and #14, it was entered by the official Ferrari team.

The number 16, which is also a left-drive car, has some subtleties, especially in the front brake air intakes on each side of the grille that are thinner than on the other two. The front hood protrusion of #16 is in the shape of a water drop, while it is in the shape of a triangle for #12 and #14. The rear wing connection to the front of the car has also been redesigned on #16 only.

The first few hours of racing are marked by a traditional sprint here between Stirling Moss’s Aston Martin and the #16 250 TR58 Wolfgang von Trips. He plays as a peer with the race leader by oscillating between 3rd and 4th places.

Shortly after midnight, Wolfgang Seidel goes straight at Arnage. At the end of the drive-in, the car stops in the mud and he is unable to pull it out. It retires at the ninth hour while it was in 3rd position in the previous hour.

Ferrari 330 TRI n°6 Winner

Ferrari 330TRI which comes to LeMans in 1962 was specially designed by Scudéria to meet the requirements of the regulation of the new category prototype 4l. Few things remain of the previous version.

The numerous new details of the body designed by Fantuzzi, are listed into the complete historical background available in the documentation file to download below.

As the starting grid of this 30th edition of LeMans 24 Hours is ordered according to the engines capacity, the 330 TRI is not in pole. But at mid-race it is cleaned up and the battle takes place between Ferrari and...Ferrari.

The experienced teammates Hill-Gendebien end 5 laps ahead to their competitors; the GTO #19 of Jean Guichet and Pierre Noblet (3705GT) and #22 of Léon Dernier and Jean Blaton.

The victory of the TRI330 marks the last victory in LeMans of car with engine in front and the end of Oliver Gendebien's career who decides to stop.
